The Old 80′s TV show may be long gone into syndication, but for one fan, it’s an obsession.

Scott Marthaler is a southerner in that he lives in southern Minnesota.
“Since Scott could stand by the coffee table about one-year-old, he would just wait for Friday night.” Further proof of Scott’s obsession can be found in his bedroom down the hall. The TV show was canceled in 1985, but season number 29 is as good underway where Scott and Steve play.

“I think Dukes became our thing because we’re just two good old boys.” Scott pauses, then adds,
“never meaning no harm.”

Three years ago Scott spent $25,000 on eBay for the shabbily detailed General Lee, he’s gradually upgraded into a head-turning ride. I had to end up with one.” Looking at them, you should know it’s also no accident that Scott and Steve have started growing out their hair – think Georgia, early 80′s.

Says Scott, “There’s really no debate over who’s who, I’ve always been ‘Bo,’ I always like to drive. ” Adds Steve, “I’ve always been ‘Luke’ I always like to be the one with the brains and all that.”

Together, they laugh in a way that tells a listener they’ve told this story before. Scott’s family was followed during the trip by a camera crew from cable network CMT, for a segment called “Addicted to the Dukes” “As you can see it’s pretty overwhelming,” says Scott as he watches on DVD the moment in which he meets actor John Bo Duke’ Schneider for the first time.

Scott, when  “THE General LEE” is all fixed up can you give me a ride? I am sure Boss Hogg won’t mind.
