Knight Rider Canceled … or not?

Is KITT about to be homeless? The beleaguered remake of Knight Rider got some bad news last week, when it appeared it’s last car chase was in the near future.
NBC informed cast and crew that the 17th episode would be the final episode of the season, cutting it short by four complete episodes. Not a good sign in TV Land.
The shows ratings have been steadily declining even among it’s core target audience of 18-49 year old males.
Things looked pretty bleak for the show.
However, the shows producer, Gary Scott Thompson says otherwise. In interviews December 8th, Mr Thompson stated that the show had not been canceled and was only having an overhaul of the format and would return.
He also stated that the cutbacks were a part of NBC’s overall cutback and not targeted specifically at Knight Rider.
So… is the show canceled ….. or not?
My guess is … Mr Thompson needs to wake up and smell the roses…. or at lease admit this remake is a stinker.

Well said. I don’t know why it was so hard to give the audience what they had wanted with this show all along – bringing back the original car with the Hoff or at the very least having them in it for a worthy guest part. Remaking these classic shows and trying to pretend the original never existed always fails. This is yet just another latest example.

Ok, I will admit..I’ve been watching it on hulu…..and I watched the first few episodes and I didn’t think much of it, But in boredom I would watch it. Then I took a break after the first 5 episodes, now I have came back and have watched all the rest of the episodes and I’m loving it…..It’s gotten much better than the first few episodes. I love the sarcasm and attitude, and humor that kit has developed, I find myself laughing out loud, at times. The show need to work on some things, but it’s obvious that sex apeal between the two main characters is a draw…even if your just drooling over Deanna Russo (Damn she’s hot, and you can’t argue that!) Either way I think the show will progressivly get better. a great example of this is Seinfield, think about it, the seiries sienfield was rated the worst tv show on television, and be the end has the #1 show beating even Friends….now if thats not a success story I don’t know what is, but reguardless give the show at least 3 seasons, if it does not pull it’s self out, then cancell it, but until then I say Let it ride..
