Beverly Hills 90210 Cars
Ah, the wonderful fantasy world of the well to do teens from Beverly Hills 90210. Always with the latest and greatest clothes, gadgets and vacations, these kids seemed to have it all as they battled — weekly — the never ending drama of issues that can befall youth; issues that included anything and everything from pregnancy and drugs to money and relationships. For the most part though, they dealt with these issues in great style and no where was this more evident than in their modes of transportation that took them where they needed to be in order to fix what was broken or prevent something from going askew. The Beverly Hills 90210 cars were an inspiration in luxury and desire.
From the sleek, stylish and elegant 1960s Porsche 356 Carrera speedster convertible — in black, of course — that Dylan McKay (Luke Perry) drove, complete with a four-cam racing engine; to the vintage 1965 Ford Mustang convertible that Brandon Walsh (Jason Priestly) worked and saved his money to purchase in the Episode “Pass/Not Pass” in Season 2, the Beverly Hills 90210 cars were certainly something to be admired. [It is also to be noted that Jason Priestly who played the character Brandon Walsh has such a deep and passionate love for cars and racing that he is actually a professional race car driver who has raced, among others, a Ford Mustang Cobra R with fairly successful results.]
Additionally, Steve Sanders (played by Ian Ziering) drove an immaculate 1989 black Chevrolet Corvette convertible with quite an unusual license plate — I8A 4RE, which translated to “I ate a Ferrari” — that embodied the Steve character’s playfulness and carefree attitude towards life. Even some of the females on Beverly Hills 90210 got in to the action by driving some very nice automobiles. Kelly Taylor (played by Jennie Garth) drove a red BMW convertible to accentuate her style of always wanting and having the what she felt was the best. It is clear that the Beverly Hills 90210 cars were primarily extended accessories for the wealthy teens of West Beverly High, thanks to the hard work of their parents who gave them everything they could possibly want and more.
